Sex 2.0 Registration Now Open!

We are pleased to announce that early-bird registration for Sex 2.0 is now open!

Now in our second year, Sex 2.0 will take place on May 9 in Washington, D.C. Sex 2.0 focuses on the intersections of social media, feminism, and sexuality. How is social media enabling people to learn, grow, and connect sexually? How is sexual expression tied to social activism? Does the concept of transparency online offer new opportunities or present new roadblocks — or both? These questions, and many more, will be addressed within a safe, welcoming, sex-positive space.

Sex 2.0 will be held in a Washington, D.C. hotel. (To ensure everyone’s privacy, we will email you the hotel information once you are registered.) It will offer five conference rooms, a lounge (with free WiFi), vendor area as well as space for various sex-positive outreach groups to set up informational displays and tables. While the event itself is on Saturday, May 9, we already have some amazing participant-organized meetups, outings, and parties being planned for Friday night and Saturday evening, as well as a Sunday brunch. So make a weekend of it and register today!

Presenting Sponsor
We are pleased to have SexToy.com as our presenting sponsor this year. On the day of the unconference, Erik Van Riper from SexToy.com will host a sex toy reviewer meetup about the Sextoy.com Reviewer Program, as well as be available to provide information about the affiliate program for MyFreeWebsite.com, should anyone have any questions. Erik is interested in meeting all of you, the movers and shakers of the industry, and seeing how his vision of data sharing amongst all parties can be expanded upon. Erik intends to be doing a lot more listening than talking – he would like to know how he can help open avenues of communication.

Keynote Speaker
Sex 2.0 is super excited to have Nikol Hasler (Midwest Teen Sex Show) as our keynote speaker this year! When we first asked Nikol for her bio she simply replied with, ‘Nikol Hasler is the queen of awesome’ but quickly retracted that in lieu of a ‘real’ bio (below). Honestly, though, we think that her first draft pretty much sums her up; Nikol is awesome and we are thrilled to have her as our keynote. Still, formality being what it is, here is her full bio:

Nikol Hasler, host of Midwest Teen Sex Show and mother of three, currently lives in New York. A frequent speaker on topic ranging from technology to creative writing, she spends her free time twittering, painting and cooking. She currently does freelance work as a filmmaker and writer, is working on a television series, a movie and a book. She also likes sauerkraut an awful lot.
